Northern Virginia Business Transportation Coalition’s Performance-Based Solutions for Enhanced Regional Prosperity, Security and Quality of Life
The Northern Virginia Business Transportation Coalition consists of private sector organizations representing most Northern Virginia businesses and private sector employees and is committed to creating a strong efficient regional transportation network to enhance regional prosperity, security and quality of life.
The Coalition’s 2018 Policy Statement endorses a big picture, performance-based approach to transportation problem solving and a series of policies and actions to improve our transportation network’s reliability by prioritizing investments on their ability to reduce congestion and travel times.
Specific Coalition priorities include
- Fixing Metro — New sustainable Metro funding tied to implementation of appropriate governance, operational, maintenance and safety reforms.
- Expanding Potomac River Crossing Capacity – New Northern Crossing and American Legion Bridge Express Lanes
- Improving North-South Connectivity –
- Bi-County and Tri-County Parkway Construction
- Fairfax County Parkway and Route 28 Upgrades
- Creating a Regional Express Bus Network – I-66, I-95/395, I-495, Dulles Corridor.
